Casa Curren offers the best of two worlds: ready access to the bustling city center of San Miguel de Allende with its shops, galleries, restaurants and nightlife, and the quiet refuge of a peaceful private retreat. Located in the El Encanto condo development, this «bridge» unit has no neighbors above or below and no shared walls. The apartment is light and airy with floor-to-ceiling windows and lovely views. Casa Curren comfortably sleeps up to five people: two in the master bedroom (new queen size bed), one in the guest room (daybed), and two in a small downstairs «mini-suite» (very comfortable futon couch which folds out to a double bed). There are two full bathrooms upstairs and another downstairs. A washer and dryer are tucked into the back of the mini-suite.

The living/dining areas are attractively furnished and include table seating for six, a gas fireplace, outside patio with table and two chairs, and an iPod docking station. The kitchen is fully provisioned with all appliances and an abundance of dishes, glassware, pots, pans and utensils. No need to bother with bottled water since we provide a dedicated tap with purified drinking water at the kitchen sink. The guest room is currently set up as a combination bedroom/office. In addition to the daybed, it includes a laptop computer, printer, broadband wireless router, TV with cable service, DVD player, lounge chair, and ample wall storage. We also provide a pay-as-you go cell phone for guest convenience. The apartment entrance is immediately adjacent to a dedicated parking space. The entrance to the mini-suite is a few steps up and the full apartment is on the second level. In addition to the dedicated parking, there is space for covered parking beneath the unit. Once-a-week maid service is included in the rental fee. The maid, Sanjuana, is friendly and speaks some English; she is also an excellent cook who will prepare dishes for you on request. You provide tips for the maid. El Encanto is just a few minutes’ walk away from the Mega super-store, a fitness center, and several restaurants. Getting into Centro is easy via bus or taxi: a bus stop is located a few blocks away, or the security staff of El Encanto will call you a taxi at a moment’s notice.
